Located minutes from the Healdsburg plaza in the hills just west of Westside Road, our winery tasting room is a geodesic dome with a large viewing window to the south, encompassing a panoramic view of the Russian River appellation and the Mayacama mountain range beyond. The three winery buildings, all “Bucky Domes,” are surrounded by eight acres of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carginane and Alicante, the source of our Estate Field Blend, Il Campo.
In the early hours of April 22, a fire destroyed the large view patio between the tasting room and our pond. While this was not good news we’re taking this opportunity to re-envision our largest outdoor hospitality venue. We’re pretty excited about the changes and will share the plans as soon we have them finalized. We expect the project to be completed by October 1st, 2020, latest. Wine tasting experiences are currently being conducted in the tasting room, and at many small seating areas situated outside around the property. Additionally, we have a picnic area called OAKHILL, with four redwood picnic tables and benches. This area is protected by trees on the west side so it is sunny in the morning and shady in the afternoon.
Capitola is located on the Monterey Bay in California, 70 miles south of San Francisco and 35 miles north of Monterey. Surrounded by the Santa Cruz Mountains on one side and the Monterey Bay on the other, the mountains are covered with magnificent redwood forests and much of the land is preserved as parks. Here in Capitola Village you will find many award-winning restaurants, artisan shops, art galleries, boutique clothing shops and even a cigar shop. Our cozy, intimate tasting room is located close to the ocean and has quite the view. Capitola is a classic, fun, must-see beach town, especially now that Armida calls it our second “home!” We’d love to see you here and don’t forget your sunscreen!
